About | The Quill
The Brass Quill Gallery has been in the making for long before we acquired a building to make it a reality. It has been that part of our minds that longs for freedom and the ability to do what we want in order to carve out a name and a living for ourselves. It is our escape into our own world, untethered by the bounds of others looking to lord over the lives of those around them.
The Brass Quill came into fruition thanks to the ideas of its artists, employees and its most humble benefactor, Jim Roeder. Together we will strive, hopefully with other local businesses and artists, to bring something to Valdosta that it has needed for a long time. We want to be an outlet for all things local be it music, art, community based events and whatever else the people of Valdosta want to be seen. This will not just be a tattoo shop. This will be a cultural hub of arts and entertainment.
The Brass Quill features two custom tattoo artists who have learned and honed their craft here in Valdosta. We have Ben Stubbs and Jacob Walsh. These two artists constantly strive to add new ideas and techniques to their repertoire in order to better themselves as artists and tattooing as an art form. You will notice no self-placed pedestals under their feet, because while they are confident in their skills, they know that there will always be room for growth in the world of art. Also working at The Brass Quill are two apprentices Kelly Stubbs and Blake Meeks. These two are very talented and are quickly making their way into the world of tattooing. We owe thanks to many people in our course of learning the art of tattooing both in and out of Valdosta. We also have professional piercer, Desiree Murphy for all of your piercing needs. The Brass Quill will only ever work in a sterile and professional environment with industry preferred tools sanitized with hospital grade equipment.
The Brass Quill Gallery in and of itself is a living work of art. Come visit us often and you will notice changes based on whatever floats through our minds at any given time. We are the portal through which many worlds converge. We are the Brass Quill. Art in the making.

Desiree “Dez” Murphy was apprenticed at the Brass Quill Gallery by Ben Stubbs and is now a proficient piercer at the establishment. Her love of body art is what led her to leave the world of retail and enter into the life of a professional body piercer. She will happily pierce anything you want as long as it is not located in your pants.
